THIS SEASON: Senior Rachel Bell got off to a good start this past fall, notching two top-20 finishes. Her experience and leadership should pay off for the Women of Troy in the spring.
2002-2003: In her first season at USC, Bell was sixth on the squad with a stroke average of 77.87 ... Best finish was at the rain-shortened TRW Regional Challenge, where she tied for 17th (as an individual) after 36 holes with a score of 153 ... Lowest 54-hole score was 228, which she shot at both the NCAA Fall Preview and the Auburn Tiger Invitational ... Shot a season-low 71 in the first round of the Auburn Tiger Invitational.
FLORIDA SOUTHERN: Bell was a Division II All-American at Florida Southern in 2000 and 2001 ... She was the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year in 2001 ... The Mocassins won the D-II NCAA title in 2000 and 2001 ... Bell finished fourth at the NCAA D-II Championships in 2002 and second in 2001.
OTHER GOLF ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Bell was a member of the 2002 under-21 European England team that competed in Moscow ... In 2002, she was 16th in England’s stroke play championships (she was 12th the year before) ... In 2001, she was first at the Saab under-21 Junior Open ...
