BOSTON, Mass. -- Two USC women's rowers finished among the top-10 collegiate rowers at the 2000 C.R.A.S.H.-B Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championships held Sunday, Feb. 20, at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center in Boston, Mass. Athletes in nine different categories race indoors, on ergometer rowing machines, over a distance of 2,000 meters.

In the women's open division, freshman Zoë Hoskins finished ninth among collegiate rowers with a final time of 7:02.10. Overall, Hoskins placed 16th in the open field of 267 international and collegiate rowers.

Competing in the women's lightweight division, freshman April Hudlett placed fourth. With a final time of 7:22.00, Hudlett finished only 13 seconds behind leader Meghan Sarbanis of Villanova University. She finished 14th in the open field of 93 total lightweight competitors.

The Women of Troy open the 2000 rowing season on March 12 against the University of North Carolina. The race will take place at the USC Boathouse in Wilmington, Calif., starting at 1 p.m.
