Zimel is a 2000 graduate of Jesuit High in Portland, Ore. ... Rowed with the Oregon Rowing Unlimited club from 1997 through 2000... As the varsity women’s heavyweight coxswain, she led her crew to a first-place finish at the 2000 Brentwood Regatta in Canada and a fourth-place finish at the 2000 Junior Nationals in Cincinnati, Ohio... A member of the National Honor Society... Zimel is a biology major with a minor in philosophy and is hoping to pursue a career in the medical field.
