USC Athletics Offers a Reason to be Thankful|
Nov. 24, 2014
Galen Center stands proud in the heart of downtown Los Angeles as the home of USC Athletics' basketball and volleyball programs.
Sunday, the Trojans family shared its home with 500 homeless Los Angeles families in an effort to give back to those less fortunate.
USC welcomed the guests with a buffet-style Thanksgiving meal, complete with all the seasonal favorites, from turkey and gravy to sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce.
After finishing their meals, each guest received a gift bag to fill with necessary goods. Families stuffed their bags with clothes, shoes, soap and canned goods donated by A Foundation for Kids.
Children in attendance were also able to grab a toy to play with as an early holiday-season treat.
The families stayed to cheer on the Women of Troy in their home-debut victory over Fresno State, 68-50.
The event marked the third year of this new athletics holiday tradition and drew the biggest crowd to date.
