Ariya Crook Dismissed From USC Women's Basketball Team|
Sept. 15, 2014
USC senior guard Ariya Crook has been dismissed from the women's basketball team due to a violation of team and university policy, head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke has announced.
"We wish Ariya the best and appreciate her contributions to our program over the past three years," Cooper-Dyke said. "She will have the opportunity to finish her academics, but will no longer be involved with this program. It's a blow to our team, for sure, but we are a resilient group."
Ranked No. 5 in career 3-pointers made at USC, Crook was the Women of Troy's top scorer in 2013-14, averaging 15.8 points per game in 31 appearances as a junior. An All-Pac-12 honorable mention recipient and MVP of the 2014 Pac-12 Tournament, Crook also led the team in 3-pointers made (69) last year and was third on the team in assists (2.3 per game).
