    USC's Briana Gilbreath Helps Lift Phoenix Mercury

    Briana Gilbreath is a pro, playing for the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury.

    Former USC guard Briana Gilbreath has earned an opportunity in the WNBA with the Phoenix Mercury. In her first eight games with the team, Gilbreath has averaged 6.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 20.8 minutes of action. She shot .381 from beyond the arc.

    The Washington Mystics selected Gilbreath with the 35th overall pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft. She signed with the Mercury on August 22, and has since signed four seven-day contracts after an injury to Candice Dupree, and has seen significant playing time with the team.

    Gilbreath was a four-time All-Pac-12 honoree at USC. As a senior, she was selected to the All-Pac-12 Team and Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. She averaged 12.6 points for her career as a Trojan.
