The Men’s & Women’s Basketball Trojan Tip-Off, featuring an array of games, prizes and activities for children as well as intrasquad scrimmages by both teams, will be held at the Galen Center on Oct. 11 beginning at noon with the Fanfest. The two 20-minute intrasquad scrimmages introducing the 2015-16 men’s and women’s teams will begin at 1:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free.

The 2015 Trojan Tip-Off will provide fans the first opportunity to see the exciting new USC men’s and women’s basketball teams, which will open their seasons as part of a doubleheader on Nov. 13 with the women facing Hope International and the men hosting San Diego.

Andy Enfield’s young and improving men’s team had a very successful trip to Italy in the summer and can’t wait for the season to begin. The Trojans return their top nine scorers from last season’s team, including guard Katin Reinhardt (12.5 ppg), forward Nikola Jovanovic (12.3 ppg) and Pac-12 All-Freshman selection guard Jordan McLaughlin (12.1 ppg) who all scored in double figures. In addition, USC has added two top 60 recruits in freshman forwards Bennie Boatwright and Chimezie Metu.

The USC women’s team under the direction of Cynthia Cooper-Dyke has revamped its roster by adding eight players to a returning talented veteran core group. The top returning scorer is senior guard Brianna Barrett who averaged 9.6 points per game last season. Among the impact newcomers will be graduate transfer Temi Fagbenie, who averaged 14.4 points and 10. 4 rebounds again for Harvard last season. She also played for Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics.

During the Trojan Tip-Off, fans will have the opportunity to meet the coaches and players, get autographs and participate in interactive skills challenges with the players and coaches. DJ Malski will be performing and there will be special appearances by the Trojan Dance Force, Song Girls and The Spirit of Troy.
