    LOS ANGELES -- Hoops star and Women of Troy alum Lisa Leslie looks to three-peat as the WNBA's Best Player, at this year's 2004 ESPY Awards, televised from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on ESPN Sunday, July 18 at 9 p.m. ET (four days after taking place on Wednesday, July 14).

    For the first time, candidates in 36 categories will be voted on completely by fans. Voting began on June 25 and will continue through July 9. Winners will be announced on the telecast.

    Leslie, who also captured the award in 2002 and 2003, leads the league this season in rebounds and blocked shots. As the L.A. Sparks leading scorer (14.7 ppg), she also tops the WNBA's list of double-doubles for the year (7).

    To cast a vote for Leslie, go to www.ESPN.com. The WNBA's other candidates include Detroit's Swin Cash, Indiana's Tamika Catchings, Washington's Chamique Holdsclaw and Seattle's Lauren Jackson.

    The 12th annual ESPY Awards Presented by GMC and Under Armour will gather sports and entertainment celebrities to recognize top achievements, relive memorable moments and salute the best performers. Actor/comedian Jamie Foxx will host. The awards include 19 cross-cutters categories -- which pit athletes from different sports against each other - as well as 17 individual sport categories.
