Four Women of Troy Earn Pac-12 Academic Accolades|
April 5, 2012
Four members of the USC women's basketball team have picked up academic honors from the Pac-12. For the 2011-12 season, Women of Troy Jacki Gemelos, Briana Gilbreath, Cassie Harberts and Christina Marinacci are on the conference list for Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Gemelos and Gilbreath both wrap up their Trojan careers with another set of academic honors from the conference. Gemelos -- a grad student pursuing a master's in gerontology -- was a 2011 Pac-10 All-Academic First Team pick last year. Her final season was cut short by injury, but the guard still hauls in All-Academic Honorable Mention this year. Human performance major Gilbreath, meanwhile, finishes up as a three-time academic honoree. An Honorable Mention recipient now in her senior and sophomore years, she was a 2011 Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team selection last season. For sophomore Harberts and junior Marinacci -- who are majoring in human performance and communications, respectively -- this season's All-Academic Honorable Mention accolades are the first of their Trojan careers.
