    USC Downs Washington State

    PULLMAN, Wash. -- Despite shooting just 27.8 percent from the field, USC defeated Washington State, 57-48, in Pullman on Thursday (Jan. 29) for the Women of Troyıs first road win of the year. They were aided by a 51-40 rebounding edge and only 14 turnovers to the Cougarsı 24.

    USC improved to 8-9 overall and 3-5 in the Pacific-10 Conference.

    Junior guard Kristin Clark scored a game-high 18 points, junior center Adrain Williams had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds and sophomore forward Tiffany Washington just missed a double-double with 8 points and 10 boards.

    USC took a 10-point lead in the second half before Washington State cut it to 5, 49-44, with 56 seconds left. The Women of Troy then hit 6-of-8 free throws in the final minute, as well as a last-second lay-up by Clark.
