Oregon State Beats USC
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Despite 17 points from junior center Adrain Williams, 11 points from junior guard Kristin Clark and a 10-point halftime lead, USC fell to host Oregon State, 57-52, on Saturday night (Jan. 10) in Corvallis, Ore.
The Women of Troy (6-7 overall, 1-3 in the Pac-10) led by as much as 14 points in the first half before taking a 30-20 lead into the break. USC, however, made only 7-of-28 shots in the second half and the Beavers (6-7, 1-3) whittled the lead away.
The Women of Troy still led, 52-50, with less than a minute to go when Oregon State center Sissell Pierce rebounded a missed shot and scored. She was also fouled on the play and made the consequent free throw, giving the Beavers a 53-52 lead with 51.5 seconds to play, its first lead of the game.
USC had 3 possessions after, but couldn't convert on any of them.
