The Women of Troy lost 69-87 to the Nebraska Cornhuskers Saturday (Dec. 8) at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska before a crowd of 1,556.

The loss dropped USC to 4- 3 on the season, and the win put Nebraska at 7-2.

The Women of Troy started the game with a 6-2 run, but the Huskers soon came back to make it 6-6, and then went on to lead 30-20 with about 8 minutes to go in the first half. USC fought back and went into the break only down by two, 36-38.

Junior forward Nadia Parker led the way in the first half, putting down 8 points and adding a block.

The Huskers were led by senior forward Danielle Page and sophomore forward Cory Montgomery, who added 13 and 7 points, respectively.

Nebraska started off the second half by scoring 8 unanswered points, on their way to a 15-5 run. The Huskers were up by 11 with 12:53 to go. The Women of Troy would not give in, and with 7:05 to go in the second half cut the lead to 8 with a 3 pointer from senior guard Allison Jaskowiak Kennedy, who tied her career high 12 points. She also added 2 assists, and 2 steals. The closest the Women of Troy would come in the second half was 7 points away with 3:31 left in the half. However, the play of Huskers' Page, who had 21 points and 5 blocks and Montgomery, who finished with a career high 21 points, would not let the Women of Troy get any closer. 14 of Montgomery's 21 came in the second half, and 8 of those came in the last 7 minutes, which put the win out of reach for the Women of Troy. Forward Nadia Parker led USC in scoring, with 14 points, and added 2 blocks.

The Women of Troy move on Ann Arbor, Michigan, to play the Michigan Wolverines, the final game of their Midwestern tour on Monday, Dec. 10 at 7 PM Eastern.
