    USC Women Pass Up Host Gonzaga

    SPOKANE, WASH. -- The USC women's basketball team won its third straight game and pocketed an important 58-51 road win over host No. 24 Gonzaga today in Spokane, Wash. Ashley Corral dumped in a game-high 19 points for the Women of Troy as they had an answer for each of the Bulldogs' scoring runs. The win improves USC to 4-3 overall on the year, while Gonzaga goes to 5-2.

    Corral's 19 points was joined by 15 from Briana Gilbreath and 13 from Cassie Harberts, who played every minute of today's clash with Gonzaga. Jacki Gemelos hauled in 14 rebounds for the Trojans to help counter double-doubles from Gonzaga's Kayla Standish and Kelly Bowen. Bowen led the Bulldogs with 15 points in the game along with 10 rebounds.

    USC rebounded from a 24-22 deficit at the break to climb ahead of the Bulldogs down the stretch. The Trojans shot at a 40-percent clip to beat out Gonzaga's 32 percent, although the Bulldogs beat the Trojans on the boards 43-37. Behind four 3-pointers from Corral, USC drained seven threes on the day to further out-pace its hosts.

    USC has more road action on tap after final exams are done. The Trojans will visit Arkansas State on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. ET before heading to College Station, Texas, to take on defending NCAA champs Texas A&M at 2 p.m. CT on Dec. 18.
