Women's Basketball Falls to Arizona
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona's Adia Barnes scored 24 points to lead No. 9 Arizona to a 72-53 Pac 10 Conference victory over Southern California Thursday night.
Barnes came up with six steals as well as converting 10 of 11 free throws. Marte Alexander added 12 points.
Adrian Williams led the Trojans with 21 points, 13 coming in the second half.
Arizona (20-6, 13-4 Pac 10) shut Southern Cal down in the second half, holding the Trojans' leading scorer, Kristin Clark, scoreless after intermission after she scored 12 in the first half.
Barnes scored six of her nine second-half points during a 12-2 run that gave Arizona control.
Southern Cal (11-15, 6-11) turned the ball over 33 times, including 11 by Clark.
