    Markisha Lea is healed up and ready to hit the court for the Trojans as a post with great leaping ability bound to be a threat on the boards for her senior season.

    2006-07 SEASON
    Lea redshirted the 2006-07 season to heal a knee injury suffered during the preseason

    2005-06 JUNIOR SEASON
    Lea played in 28 games and started five as a junior until breaking her arm just before the NCAA Tournament... Set new career highs with 10 points against Cal State Northridge on Dec. 9 and eight rebounds and a block against Stanford on March 5 in the Pac-10 Tournament... Finished just one point shy of her career high with nine points at Arizona on Feb. 3... Had a career-high two assists vs. Oregon on Dec. 22.

    2004-05 SOPHOMORE SEASON
    Lea played in 12 games in her second season and averaged 1.3 points in those appearances... Her six-point performance against California on Feb. 20 was her most productive output... She pulled down a career-best two rebounds three times last season against LMU (Dec. 5), San Diego (Dec. 7) and California... Was a flawless 2-for-2 in both her trips to the free-throw line, against LMU and Stanford (Feb. 18).

    2003-04 FRESHMAN SEASON
    Lea made three appearances as a freshman, playing against San Diego (Dec. 13) and twice against, Washington State (Jan. 11 and Feb. 5)... Averaged three minutes per game... Had her best performance against Washington State on Jan. 11 when she collected eight points (4-5) and one rebound off the bench in just three minutes.

    HIGH SCHOOL
    Lea is a 2003 graduate of Martin Luther King High in Riverside, Calif. ... A three-year varsity letterwinner in basketball (did not play as a freshman), four-year letterwinner in track & field and two-year letterwinner in volleyball... Named the MLK Female Athlete of the Year as a sophomore and senior... Finished her basketball career at MLK High with 1,696 points and 932 rebounds... Averaged 23.5 ppg and 11.0 rpg as a sophomore, 23.0 ppg (led Riverside County) and 12.0 rpg as a junior and 22.5 ppg and 14.0 rpg as a senior... A three-year basketball team captain... Led team to Sunkist League championship in 2002... Other conference honors include 2002 and 2003 Sunkist League MVP and All-Sunkist League in 2001, 2002 and 2003... Named to the Division II-AA All-CIF first team as a junior and senior... Named 2003 Los Angeles Times All-Inland Empire, 2003 Riverside Press Enterprise All-Riverside County second team, 2002 Riverside Press Enterprise All-Riverside County third team... Also honored as Street & Smith 2003 All-American honorable mention... In volleyball, she was honored as Sunkist League MVP and All-CIF in 2003... A four-time All-CIF selection in track & field... As an all-around student-athlete, she held such leadership positions as Associated Student Body President (2003), ASB Activities Director (2002), ASB Historian (2001) and Freshman Class President (2000)...     Markisha Katherleen Lea was born on Sept. 22, 1985, in Riverside, Calif.... The daughter of Marvin and Gwendolyn Lea, she has three brothers, Shervin (31), Marvin (21) and Marques (14)... Names her brother, Marvin, as her best friend and her biggest sports hero because of his hard work, drive and passion for the game of basketball... Marvin is currently a junior guard at Pepperdine... Lists dad's fried chicken and mom's enchiladas as her favorite foods... A social science psychology major who is interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting or sportswriting.
