    Símone Jelks stands out as one of USC's most reliable defensive forces and returns to guide the Trojans in her final season at Troy.

    2006-07 JUNIOR SEASON
    Jelks started eight games and appeared in 27, sidelined for two games after breaking her nose at ASU on Jan. 21... Set new career highs in almost every category this year, including seven points three times, seven rebounds against Cal and six free throws made at ASU.. Averaged 18.9 minutes per game along with 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

    2005-06 SOPHOMORE SEASON
    Jelks' sophomore year hit a road bump with a knee sprain that kept her out of play for six weeks... Later reaggravated her injury and was sidelined for the remainder of the season... Appeared in 14 games... Hit her first career 3-pointer against Cal State Northridge on Dec. 9... Also had a career-high two steals and season-high five points against CSUN... Had a career-high five rebounds at ASU on Feb. 4... Received Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention... A Marks Scholar.

    2004-05 FRESHMAN SEASON
    Jelks' first collegiate season was hampered somewhat by hand and knee injuries, as the highly touted freshman appeared in just 15 games for the Trojans, averaging 5.6 minutes per game... Her collegiate debut came against Oregon on Jan. 2 when she played four minutes and added two points from the free-throw line in the win... Her first collegiate field goals came the very next game against Oregon State on Jan. 4, when she scored six points in eight minutes on the floor... Pulled down a season-best four rebounds and had four points against Stanford on Jan. 22... Averaged just over a point per game after scoring in five games and shooting 42.9 percent from the floor.

    Jelks is a 2004 graduate of Charles F. Brush High in Lyndhurst, Ohio... A four-year basketball letterwinner who also lettered two years in golf, she played No. 3 on the boys team in 2001 as a sophomore and No. 1 on the girls team in 2002 as a junior... In basketball, she averaged 21.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game as a senior... Completed her career as Brush High's boys and girls career scoring leader with 1,397 points... A 2004 McDonald's All-American nominee and 2003 Adidas Top 10 Camp selection... A two-time (2003, 2004) Western Reserve Conference North Division MVP and first-team all-conference selection... Selected to the Ohio North/South All-Star team and Ohio/West Virginia All-Star game... Also named to the 2004 Associated Press Division I All-Ohio third team, All-Northeast Lakes District Division I first team, The Plain Dealer All-Cayahoga County All-Star team and The News Herald first team...
