    USC Boots the Dons, 68-55

    GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Tina Thompson had 26 points and 15 rebounds to make sure there would be no Cinderella run for San Francisco this year as sixth-seeded Southern California ousted the 11th-seeded Lady Dons, 68-55, in a Mideast Region first-round game at Gainesville, Florida.

    The Women of Troy (20-8), who finished third in the Pac-10 Conference, will face Florida in a second-round game on Monday.

    Jodi Parriott contributed 11 points for USC, which shot 42 percent (21-for-50) from the field and outrebounded San Francisco, 45-33.

    Brittany Lindhe led the Lady Dons (25-6) with 15 points, but hit just 4-of-16 shots from the field. Renee Demirdjian added 13 points and Andrea Kagie 11 for San Francisco, which shot just 27 percent (16-for-59).

    Last season, the Lady Dons became the first 12th seed in the history of the NCAA Women's Tournament to advance to the Sweet 16 before falling to top-seeded Connecticut.
