    USC Forward Tina Thompson Named Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week For The Third Time This Season

    WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC senior forward Tina Thompson has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

    Thompson, a 6-foot-3 native of Los Angeles, Calif. had two double-doubles in road wins over Arizona and Arizona State last week.

    Against Arizona she scored 26 points and had 14 rebounds, going 11-for-12 from the foul line. She also posted two steals, two assists, and one block against the Wildcats.

    At Arizona State, Thompson had 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

    Thompson's 48 points last week gave her 1,941 career points, just 16 points short of moving into fifth place on the Pac-10 career scoring list. Her 26 rebounds moved her into fourth place on the Pac-10 all-time rebounding list with 1,020.

    Thompson has scored 21-plus points in 12 of USC's 15 games this season and has reached at the least the 25-point mark eight times.

    This is Thompson's third Pac-10 honor this year, and the fifth in her career.
