INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Men's Water Polo Committee announced Sunday the six teams vying for the 2013 National Collegiate Men's Water Polo Championship. The top two seeds have been placed in the bracket; the remaining four teams will compete for the last two berths in the bracket via two play-in games. The play-in games and the championship will be hosted by Stanford. The play-in games will be contested Dec. 5, and the championship will be held Dec. 7 and 8.

In the first play-in game No. 4 seed UC San Diego, (14-13) will play No. 5 seed St. Francis Brooklyn (22-10). The winner will be placed in the championship bracket to play No. 1 seed USC (26-4) - today's winner of the MPSF Championship game. In the second-play-in game No. 3 seed Stanford (21-5) will be paired with No. 6 seed Whittier College (19-12), with the winner advancing to the championship bracket to play No. 2 seed Pacific (22-4). The play-in games and all four championship games will be played at Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford.

Conferences receiving automatic qualification included the Collegiate Water Polo Association, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Western Water Polo Association. The remaining two teams were selected at-large without geographical restrictions.

In 2012, USC defeated UCLA 11-10 to capture its fifth consecutive and eighth overall national championship title.
