Michael Rosenthal Picked MPSF Player of the Week|
Nov. 19, 2012
USC redshirt senior Michael Rosenthal matched his season high of three goals with his second straight hat trick for the Trojans coming in a crucial 10-9 win by USC over No. 2 UCLA over the weekend. For his bigtime efforts in beating the Bruins, Rosenthal has picked up his first career selection as MPSF Player of the Week.
Rosenthal struck first to pull USC even early and then again in the first period with a go-ahead goal for a 3-2 lead. His third goal was even more clutch, giving the Trojans a late 9-8 lead for a boost to a big victory for USC. Rosenthal's game-high three goals helped USC finish off an undefeated regular season for just the third time in program history and gave the Trojans a perfect 8-0 MPSF finish to secure the top seed over No. 2 UCLA for the coming MPSF Tournament. Rosenthal is now third on the team in scoring with 24 goals. USC is now 24-0 overall and is set up to host the 2012 MPSF Tournament this weekend (Nov. 23-25) as the top seed.
