Lachlan Edwards Grabs Another MPSF Player of the Week Pick|
Oct. 3, 2016
Junior 2-meter man Lachlan Edwards had multiple-goal outings in all three USC victories last week, amassing seven goals as he helped his Trojans improve to 12-1 overall on the year. For his hard work and scoring success, Edwards has earned his second selection as MPSF Player of the Week this season.
Edwards tallied two goals each in USC’s two wins in Riverside as the Trojans beat Concordia 21-2 and Fresno Pacific 21-3 in a doubleheader day at the Lancer Invitational. Back in Los Angeles the next day, Edwards was the Trojans’ top scorer with a hat trick in USC’s 15-7 win over No. 4 Pacific. Edwards scored the second goal of the game and then scored back-to-back goals to open the second half. With seven goals collected over the weekend, Edwards now stands as USC’s second leading scorer this season with 21 goals.
Edwards and the Trojans are back in action at Uytengsu Aquatics Center this Friday (Oct. 7) with a 5 p.m. faceoff against Pepperdine. Then, USC will head to visit UC Irvine on Sunday (Oct. 9) for a 1 p.m. clash in Irvine.
