Trojan Men Fall Short Of Medal Hopes In Rio

    Aug. 16, 2016

USC’s lone men’s water polo representative in Rio, Kostas Genidounias, saw his medal hopes come to a disappointing end in Rio today. Genidounias and his Greek teammates took a tough loss to Italy in the quarterfinal round to move to the consolation semifinals.

Genidounias and Team Greece wound up with a 9-5 loss to Italy today in the Olympic quarterfinals. That sends Greece into a consolation semifinal matchup on August 18 against Brazil, offering up a chance to get back on a winning track and fight for a fifth-place finish at the 2016 Games.
