Following USC men's water polo's fifth straight national championship, four members of the undefeated Trojan squad have added academic awards to their 2012 honor roll as All-Academic MPSF Scholar-Athletes. Led by redshirt senior Matt Burton, who picked up his third career selection as an MPSF Scholar-Athlete, USC also has Ivan Kustic, Zach Lucas and Connor Virjee on the 2012 list for academic honors.

With a 3.69 cumulative GPA, Matt Burton leads the pack in the academic realm while also boasting five national championship rings as the redshirt senior has been a part of the past five seasons. He scored 29 goals in 2012 for the Trojans. Redshirt sophomore Ivan Kustic provided five goals while also working the books for a 3.29 GPA to net his second selection as an MPSF Scholar-Athlete.

Lucas and Virjee have notched the first academic accolades of their Trojan careers with this year's MPSF Scholar-Athlete honors. A true junior, Virjee posted a 3.08 GPA to go with 14 goals this season, while redshirt sophomore Zach Lucas held a 3.01 GPA and provided 19 goals.
