LOS ANGELES - Brett Ormsby's third goal of the afternoon was the game-winner Saturday as the No. 2 UCLA Bruins defeated the No. 4 USC Trojans, 6-5, in non-conference action at McDonald's Swim Stadium. Ormsby scored the only goal of the fourth period at 4:18 on a power-play after USC's Predrag Damjanov was called for the ejection foul.
UCLA improved to 13-3 overall while USC fell to 11-6 on the season as the Trojans' winning streak was snapped at six games.
UCLA jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the first period before the Trojans rallied. Daniel Lontay scored twice as USC recorded three straight goals to tie the match at 5-5. Lontay scored on a power-play goal at 5:43 of the third period.
Brandon Brooks made eight saves in goal for the Bruins while USC's Bozidar Damjanovic made six saves.
