SAN DIEGO - Freshmen Tim Wollthan and Pedrag Damjanov scored two goals each Sunday to lift the No. 1 USC Trojans to a 7-5 victory against the No. 7 UC San Diego Tritons. The Trojans (8-0) scored three goals in the third period after a 2-1 halftime deficit. The Tritons (8-3) closed the gap to 6-5 late in the fourth, but Damjanov sealed the win with a back-hander at 1:07 remaining.
The Trojans will travel to the Bay Area next week for a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Saturday (Sept. 30) at Stanford and a non-MPSF match at California on Sunday (Oct. 1).
