Joel Dennerley Doubles Up As MPSF Player of the Year
A record four Trojans earn All-MPSF First Team honors in 2011.
THIS SEASON: Vavic enters his second season at USC wielding a deft and dangerous left hand for the Trojans.
2010: Vavic was USC's top scorer as a freshman with 49 goals, having scored in all but three games on the year... Had a hat trick in the NCAA Championship game, tying his career high and marking his 16th multiple-goal game of the season... Named to the NCAA All-Tournament First Team... Had the winning goal in sudden death in the MPSF Championship game, earning a spot on the MPSF All-Tournament Team... Also picked up Third Team All-American honors and earned All-MPSF Honorable Mention.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Vavic is a member of the U.S. Junior National Team... Was the team's third leading scorer at the 2009 FINA Men's Junior World Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Vavic earned first team all-CIF honors as a senior out of Loyola High in Los Angeles... Was named league MVP as a senior... Team won league championships in 2008 and 2009... A first team All-American as a senior... Named to 2008 all-CIF first team as a junior and to All-CIF third team in 2007 as a sophomore... Played club for Trojan Water Polo.
PERSONAL: Vavic has not decided on a major... Parents are Jovan and Lisa... Has one sister, Monica, and two brothers, Marko and Stefan... Enjoys napping and playing sports in his free time...
