Trojans Back On Track With 14-3 Win Over Long Beach State
No. 4 USC dominates the 49ers for another MPSF win.
THIS SEASON: Simon returns to the cage as a talented backup goalie for the Trojans.
2010: Simon appeared in five games as a redshirt sophomore... Tallied 18 saves and allowed eight goals... Had a season-high six saves vs. Whittier on Nov. 6.
2009: Simon appeared in seven games as a redshirt freshman... Made 24 saves and allowed just seven goals... First game appearance was a three-save outing vs. Air Force on Sept. 6... Set a career high with six saves on Sept. 7 vs. UC Santa Barbara.
2008: Simon redshirted his first season at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL: Simon's Palo Alto High team reached the CCS finals... He had 14 saves and blocked both five-meter penalty shots faced in the game... Played club for Solo and Stanford WPC.
PERSONAL: Simon is majoring in policy, planning and development... Parents are Keith and Mary... Has three siblings, Ian, Cate and Peter... Lists Rudy Ruettiger as his biggest sports hero and sushi as his favorite food... Would like to travel after graduation... Born May 7, 1989.
