    THIS SEASON: Ligtenberg's size and length make him a dominating factor in USC's defense as well as on the offensive end of the pool.

    2007: Ligtenberg scored six goals as a junior... Struck in five games with one two-goal effort against UC Santa Barbara... Earned All-MPSF honorable mention.

    2006: Ligtenberg scored 10 goals, including three multiple-goal efforts (vs. Pepperdine, Pacific and Navy).

    2005: Ligtenberg scored four goals as a true freshman... First career goal came against Redlands.

    NATIONAL TEAMS: Ligtenberg is training with the U.S. National Team and also is a member of the U.S. Junior National Team, recently competing in the 2007 FINA Junior World Championships and placing second at the Low Tatras Cup in Slovakia over the summer... Competed in the 2005 Junior World Championships and in the 2006 Junior Pan American Games. Also was a member of the 2005 U.S. Youth National Team that competed in the Low Tatras Cup in Slovakia.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Ligtenberg was named De Anza League MVP as a senior... Received team MVP honors as a junior and senior... Named Palo Alto Daily Player of the Week as a senior... His Gunn High team in Palo Alto, Calif., won league championship his senior year and placed second in the Central Coast Section... Played club for Stanford Water Polo.

    PERSONAL: Ligtenberg is majoring in business... Parents are Adriaan and Swanica... Has two brothers, Roland and Maarten... Birthdate is March 23, 1987.
