THIS SEASON: Hixson enters his first season at USC.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Hixson has been a member of the U.S. Junior and Youth National Teams.
HIGH SCHOOL: Hixson played four years of varsity water polo at La Jolla (Calif.) High... Earned second team all-San Diego Section honors as a senior and was an all-league honoree... Scored seven goals in a game against JSerra High... Played club for San Diego Shores and Windansea.
PERSONAL: Hixson is majoring in communication and would like to pursue a career as a sports agent... Parents are Rob and Gina... Has one brother, Robbie, and one sister, Halsey... Great uncle Frank Dessert played football at USC... Father Rob played football at UC Davis and rugby at UCLA... Grandfather Rob Hixson played football at UCLA, and uncle Jim Freeger played basketball at UCLA... Sister Halsey rowed at UCLA, and brother Robbie played water polo at UC Davis... Lists Phillip Rivers as his biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to try base jumping... Hopes to travel to Amsterdam, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Asia, West Africa and Jamaica...
