Jon Rivera, Connor Inlow Sign With USC Men's Volleyball|

Opposite hitter Jon Rivera of Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and outside hitter Connor Inlow of Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach (Calif.) have signed letters of intent with the USC men's volleyball team and will join the Trojan program in the fall of 2014, USC head coach Bill Ferguson announced today (Nov. 14).
"Jon is the top prospect from Puerto Rico this year," said Ferguson. "He jumps high, is long and has a great arm and outstanding range as an attacker. He is a solid blocker and can score from the service line. He is very grounded and humble and is a tireless worker.
"Connor is a competitor and a winner along the lines of the many Mira Costa players who have come to USC. He has been a central force on all of his teams, getting the ball at critical situations and delivering."
The 6-4 Rivera trained with the Puerto Rican National Team in 2013, competing against former Trojan standout Juan Figueroa. As a senior at Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola, Rivera was named the 2013 Player of the Year by the Puerto Rico High School Athletic Alliance and La Onda Deportiva. His team won the PRHSAA league championship for the second consecutive year and is looking to repeat as La Copa Primera Hora national champions. During his high school career, he was named MVP and all-tourney of numerous local tournaments.
In 2012, his Borinquen Coqui club team was the first Puerto Rican team to win the USA Volleyball High Performance Championship and they repeated as champs in 2013. He made the All-Tournament team in his age group at the 2011 USA Volleyball Junior Olympics.
The 6-6 Inlow was a member of Mira Costa's 2012 CIF Division I champions. He was a on the 2013 USA Volleyball Youth National A2 team and participated in the 2013 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships. His Southern California Volleyball Club team won a silver medal at 2013 USA Volleyball Junior Olympics. He has played three positions during his high school and club teams: outside, middle and opposite hitter.
USC is coming off a rebuilding season in 2013 after having advanced to the NCAA Final Four 3 of the previous 4 years.
