Six-Team USC Men's Volleyball Fall Tournament This Saturday|

The USC men's volleyball squad will host the six-team pre-season 2014 USC Fall Tournament this Saturday (Oct. 25) in the Galen Center Pavilion.
The Trojans will be joined by Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opponents UCLA, Long Beach State, Cal State Northridge and Cal Baptist, plus non-conference foe Grand Canyon.
Admission is free. The Galen Center Pavilion is adjacent to the Galen Center, with the volleyball courts on the upstairs level.
Competition begins at 8 a.m. with USC hosting Cal State Northridge on Court 1 and Cal Baptist meeting Long Beach State on Court 2. At 9:45 a.m., UCLA faces Grand Canyon on Court 1 and USC hosts Cal Baptist on Court 2. Then at 11:30 a.m., it's Cal State Northridge against UCLA on Court 1 and Grand Canyon versus Long Beach State on Court 2. The 1:15 p.m. matches are USC playing crosstown rival UCLA on Court 1 and Cal State Northridge and Long Beach State on Court 2. At 3 p.m., Cal Baptist takes on Grand Canyon on Court 1 while UCLA meets Long Beach State on Court 2. The tourney concludes at 4:45 p.m. with Cal State Northridge against Cal Baptist on Court 1 and USC hosting Grand Canyon on Court 2.
All matches will be the best of 3 sets, with the first 2 sets played to 25 points and the third set to 15 points. For matches that are decided in 2 sets, teams have the option of playing a non-counting third set.
USC, coming off a 16-11 season in which it advanced to the MPSF Tournament, is led by All-American setter Micah Christenson, who started this summer for the U.S. National Team, 2014 National Freshman of the Year Lucas Yoder at outside hitter and 2014 Freshman All-American middle blocker Andy Benesh.
After the USC Fall Tournament, the Trojans continue their pre-season competition by playing at the Long Beach State Fall Tournament on Nov. 8 and at the UCLA SAC Tournament on Nov. 14 and 15 before hosting Alberta in an exhibition on Dec. 31 in the Galen Center Pavilion. Troy begins its 2015 regular season with a non-conference road match at Grand Canyon on Jan. 7 before opening MPSF play at home on Jan. 16 against Pepperdine.
