Andy Benesh Helps U.S. Junior National Team To Silver At Pan American Cup|

Junior Andy Benesh helped the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team take home the silver medal at the 2015 Under-21 Pan American Cup in Canada.
The U.S. finished second out of 7 teams in the 6-day (June 23-28) competition.
After finishing second in its pool with 3-0 wins over Barbados and El Salvador and a 3-1 loss to Brazil, the U.S. beat Mexico (3-0) in the quarterfinals and Canada (3-1) in the semifinals before falling again to Brazil (3-0) in the final on June 28.
Benesh started most matches. In pool play, he had 6 kills versus Barbados, 10 kills and 3 blocks versus Brazil and 10 kills and 2 blocks versus El Salvador. He added 6 kills in the semis versus Canada and then 4 kills and a block in the Brazil final.
Benesh and the U.S. Junior National Team now will play at the FIVB Under-21 World Championship on Sept. 11-20 in Mexico. They will face three of their Pan Am Cup competitors: Brazil, Canada, and host country Mexico. The U.S. will begin in a very competitive pool with Argentina, Poland, and Russia.
