Three Trojans Named AVCA All-Americans|

USC senior opposite hitter Murphy Troy and senior setter Riley McKibbin were named to the 2011 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American first team, while junior outside hitter Tony Ciarelli made the All-American second team.
Troy, a 4-year starter who last week was named the 2011 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year, was also an All-American first teamer in 2009. He made the second team in 2010 and honorable mention in 2008. He currently leads USC in kills (321) in 2011, is tied for first in aces (33) and is fourth in digs (126) and blocks (57). He is ninth nationally in aces (0.41), 10th in hitting percentage (.357) and 13th in kills (3.96). In his career, the USC co-captain has 1,847 kills, 641 digs, 249 blocks and 138 aces. His kills, aces and 31 matches with 20-plus kills are USC rally scoring era career records.
McKibbin, who was made the 2011 All-MPSF first team last week, was an All-American third teamer in 2009. He currently leads USC in assists (1,011) and is second in digs (168) in 2011. His is second nationally in assists (12.04) and 21st in digs (2.00). He has posted 4,181 assists, 669 digs and 165 blocks in his career.
Ciarelli, also a 2011 All-MPSF first teamer, made the All-American second team in 2009. He currently is tied for first on USC in aces (33) and is second in kills (294) and third in digs (129) and blocks (63) in 2011. He is 11th in aces (0.39), 26th in hitting percentage (.310) and 26th in kills (3.50). He has 1,168 career kills, 518 digs, 211 blocks and 102 aces.
This year, the No. 1-ranked USC men's volleyball team is 22-2 overall (its most wins since 1999) and captured its first MPSF regular season title since 2000. The Trojans face No. 2 UC Irvine in an MPSF Tournament semifinal match today (April 28) at 7:30 p.m. in the Galen Center.
