No. 1 USC Men's Volleyball Sweeps UC San Diego
Tony Ciarelli had 15 kills to lead the top-ranked USC men's volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-15, 25-20 sweep over No. 11 UC San Diego in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Thursday (April 5) in USC's Galen Center. It was USC's 14th consecutive win, its longest streak since a school-record 30 in a row in 1990-91. It also snapped UC San Diego's 5-match winning streak, the Tritons' longest since 1990.

The No. 8-ranked USC men's volleyball team (0-0 overall, 0-0 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), the 2-time defending MPSF regular season champ which has played in 3 of the last 4 NCAA Final Fours, opens 2013 MPSF play on the road, first at No. 14 UC San Diego (1-2, 0-0) on Thursday (Jan. 10) and then at No. 1 UC Irvine (3-0, 0-0) on Friday (Jan. 11) in a rematch of the 2012 NCAA Championship match. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
