    Men's Volleyball Drops Two Over Weekend

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The No. 14 USC men's volleyball team dropped two matches over the weekend at the Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne Spring Classic, falling to Ball State, 15-12, 12-15, 10-15, 7-15, and host IPFW, 12-15, 9-15, 16-14, 12-15.

    The Trojans, who fell to 8-12 overall, were without star senior middle blocker Szilard Kovacs, who was ill.

    USC didn't hit well in the two matches, hitting just .163 against Ball State and .198 against IPFW.

    Freshman outside hitter Eli Fairfield had 26 kills against Ball State, while fellow freshman outside hitters Ryan Thurlow and Trevor Julian had 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

    Fairfield again led the Trojans against IPFW with 21 kills and 11 digs, but hit just .081. Junior middle blocker Omar Rawi had 17 kills and eight blocks and Julian had 14 kills and 13 digs.

    USC hosts UC Santa Barbara at the North Gym on Wednesday (March 25) at 7 p.m.
