LOS ANGELES -- Brook Billings had a match-high 20 kills to lead the No. 5-ranked USC men's volleyball team to a 15-5, 15-6, 15-8 victory over Manitoba in an exhibition match on Tuesday (Jan. 18) at the USC North Gym.
USC improved to 6-1 overall, while Manitoba fell to 6-5.
The Trojans outhit Manitoba, .540 to .325.
Billings hit .500 overall. Troy's Eli Fairfield had 17 kills and hit .464 and teammate Beau Rawi had 10 kills while hitting .600.
For Manitoba, Steve Brinkman had 12 kills and Brian Enns added 11, while Robert Janson had 5 blocks. The Bisons, ranked No. 7 in Canada, are in the beginning of a tour of American colleges while taking a break from their Canadian schedule.
USC next begins Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play with a pair of 7
p.m. matches this weekend in San Diego, on Friday (Jan. 21) at San Diego
State and on Saturday (Jan. 22) at UC San Diego.
