LOS ANGELES - The University of Alberta (Canada) men's volleyball team swept USC, 15-10, 15-12, 15-11, in the Trojans' 1999 season opener Wednesday (Jan. 6) in the USC North Gym.

USC freshman Brook Billings had a match-high 23 kills and added 6 digs. For Alberta, Pascal Cardinal posted 17 kills and Murray Grapentine had 15 kills and 5 blocks. The Golden Bears, now 16-7, are in the midst of a tour of American colleges while taking a break from their Canadian schedule.
