HIGH SCHOOL: He made the 2006 Volleyball Magazine All-American first team, All-CIF Division I first team, Los Angeles Times All-Star first team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-Area first team and All-Bay League MVP as a senior at CIF Division I runner-up Redondo Union High in Redondo Beach (Calif.) ... He also made the 2006 Volleyball Fab 50 team ... He had 346 kills, 231 digs and 74 blocks as a senior ... As a junior in 2005, his honors included All-CIF Division I first team, Los Angeles Times All-Star second team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-Area first team and All-Bay League first team, as well as being named MVP of the Redondo Tournament and earning All-Tourney honors at the Francis Parker and Redondo/Mira Costa tourneys ... He won 2005 All-American Under 17 honors as his club team won a bronze medal at the Junior Olympics ... He also was a member of the 2004 U.S. Boys' Youth National A2 team and the 2003 U.S. Boys' High Performance camp ... He also has a history of success in junior beach volleyball as he placed second at the 2006 U.S. Junior Olympic Beach Championships Under 20 , was third at the 2005 Under 21 competition and won the Under 18 event in 2004 ... He also was second at the 2005 AAU Boys Junior Beach Championships Under 19, won a silver medal at the 2005 Junior Beach World Championships Under 19 and competed in 4 AVP events ...
