Cameron Green, who spent the past 2 seasons as an administrative assistant with the USC men's volleyball team, was promoted to volunteer assistant coach in July of 2010.
Green, 36, also is a longtime successful club, high school and beach coach.
He has coached with the Southern California Volleyball Club since 2007, serving as its director since 2010. His boys' 17 team won a bronze medal at the 2009 Junior Olympics.
He was the owner, administrator and head coach of X Volleyball Club from 2003 to 2007.
From 2000 to 2006, he coached boys' teams with the LBC Volleyball Club, winning gold medals at the 2001 (13s) and 2004 (16s) Junior Olympics and a silver in 2002.
He also coached boys' teams with Club Manhattan (2000-01), South Coast Volleyball Club (1995-98) and Torrance Volleyball Club (1993).
He was an assistant boys coach at Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach from 1997 to 2004, helping the team win the 2001 national championship and consecutive CIF titles in 2001 and 2002.
From 2003 to 2009, he coached and trained various women's pro beach players at AVP and FIVB events, including Kerri Walsh, Misty May, Rachel Wacholder, Jen Kessy, Nancy Mason, Tyra Turner, Suzanne Stonebarger, Michelle More, Diane DeNeccochea, Carrie Dodd, Jen Snyder and Janelle Allen.
He played at Cal State Northridge in 1993 and 1994. The 1993 Matador squad won the MPSF tournament and was the NCAA runnerup.
He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Belford in 2008.
He prepped at Mira Costa High, where he won All-CIF and All-Ocean League honors. He was a member of the 1990 team that won the national and CIF championships.
