Trojans Win Fourth-Consecutive Match
SAN DIEGO - The University of Southern California men's volleyball team upped its current winning streak to four games following Tuesday's sweep at San Diego State, 15-3, 17-16, 15-4.
The unranked Trojans (5-1) started their winning streak Feb. 4 with a win over second-ranked BYU and followed that up with a win over top-ranked Stanford Feb. 7.
USC gained momentum against the host Aztecs, who are still looking for their first win of the season (0-8), early on, taking the first set 15-3. The only resistance San Diego State was able to muster came in the second match when it pressed USC to the limit, before dropping the set 17-16.
The Trojans were led by Eric Seiffert and Chris Guifliano, who each finished with 22 kills. Omar Rawi added 11 kills for USC while Donald Suxho finished with 57 assists.
San Diego State was led by Matt Hyden who had 18 kills.
USC looks to continue its winning ways Wednesday at the University of California at San Diego.
