    USC Comes Away with Four Singles Victories In First Day of Torero Challenge

    The USC men's tennis team picked up four singles victories and a doubles win over San Diego State at day one of the 2005 USD Torero Challenge. While the Trojans faced SDSU, the University of Washington took on USD on the University of San Diego campus.

    USC junior Aaron Badart defeated Anthony Gomez, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. While Senior Jeff Kazarian knocked off Aztec's Eugenio Romero, 6-4, 6-2 and Sophmore Adam Loucks overcame Stephan, Timu 6-1, 6-0. Classmate Kaes Van't Hof challenged Markus Dickhardt taking the match to three sets and defeated him, 6-1, 2-6, 7-5. Junior Garrett Snyder and Freshman Chong Want suffered defeats to Christian Groh, 7-5, 6-0 and Robert Sabo, 6-1, 6-1, respectively.

    In doubles play the Trojans only win came from Whit Livingston and Wang who prevailed over Gomez and Romero 8-6. Tandems Van'tHof and Kazarian as well as Loucks and Snyder fell in their respective matches.

    USC resumes action on Sunday, Oct. 30, as the Trojans take on USD.
