Sept. 29, 2014
The USC men's tennis team begins its run at another NCAA Championship with some heated fall competition this week. The Trojans are embedded in Tulsa, Okla., for action at the 2014 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships. Qualifying rounds begin today (Sept. 29) with two Trojans battling to join their USC teammates in the main draw, which kicks off on Thursday (Oct. 2).
Today in Tulsa, USC sophomore #47 Max de Vroome and junior #124 Eric Johnson get going in singles qualifying. Three wins in qualifying rounds would launch those Trojans into the main draw, where three of their teammates are already lined up to play singles. #2 Yannick Hanfmann, #33 Roberto Quiroz and #39 Jonny Wang are slated for the singles main draw. Meanwhile, in doubles, the #19 ranked duo of Hanfmann and Quiroz are paired up for the main draw, as are de Vroome and Johnson.
