    May 19, 2015

USC senior Jonny Wang was crowned today as the ITA National Most Improved Senior of the Year, taking his selection as the Southwest Region's honoree for the award to the national level.

Wang more than doubled his singles win count from his freshman to his sophomore season, and he's been on the uptick ever since. Coming off the Trojans' run to the 2015 NCAA Team Quarterfinals, Wang now is bound for a repeat trip to the NCAA Singles action after breaking into the draw last year. Wang has been ranked as high as No. 8 in the nation this season in singles play and holds a 29-8 overall singles record in his senior season to date.

Currently, he's No. 45 in the land as he takes a career singles record of 94-31 into the NCAA singles draw tomorrow (May 20) in Waco, Texas. This season, Wang reached the singles final of the ITA Southwest Regionals and was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on March 16.
