COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The No. 19 USC men's tennis team downed Wake Forest 7-0 Tuesday at the Sam Daniel Tennis Stadium. The Gamecocks improve to 14-10 on the season (4-6 in the SEC, 8-2 in Region II action).

In singles play, the Gamecocks won all six matches. No. 23 Guillaume Legat won 6-0, 6-2 over Johan Hansen. No. 38 Jerome Jourdon beat Raul Muroz 6-0, 6-2 and No. 59 Vladimir Pavicevic won his match 7-6, 6-1 over Myles Clouston. Olof Akesson, ranked No. 71, defeated Brett Mauro 6-3, 6-0 and Tomasz Wawrzyniak won 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 over Justin Kaufman.

In doubles action, USC won two out of three matches to win the point. The team of Akesson/Legat beat Mike Berger/Kaufman 8-6 and Gamboa/Jourdon won 8-5 over Hansen/Andres Guzman. The team of Pavicevic/Wawrzyniak lost to Clouston/Muroz 8-5.

The Gamecocks will be back in action on Friday for their last regular season match. They will face SEC rival Auburn at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
