This Week -- Coming off a victory over San Diego last Friday, the 19th-ranked USC men's tennis team (3-1) travels to No. 38 Arizona (6-1) and No. 47 Arizona State (3-0) this week. The Trojans face the Wildcats on Friday, Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m. MST in Tucson, then travel to Tempe to face the Sun Devils at 1 p.m. MST on Saturday, Feb. 21. Neither match will count against Pac-10 record.

This year's Trojans are eager to turn a new leaf. Coming off a very uncharacteristic and mediocre performance last season, in which the Trojans finished 14-12 overall and 2-5 in the Pac-10, the 2003-04 Trojans are stronger, deeper, and looking forward to returning to the national spotlight. The team features nine returners and four newcomers, all of which will see ample playing time in the starting lineup.

ITA Ranking Updates -- The team ranking were updated on Feb. 10 and USC jumped two spots to No. 19. In singles, junior Johan Berg is ranked 35th, senior Ruben Torres is ranked No. 51, junior transfer Drew Hoskins is 59th and senior Scott Patterson is ranked No. 99.

USC vs. Arizona/Arizona State -- Friday's match against Arizona will marks the 84th meeting between these two teams. The Trojans are 82-1 against the Wildcats and suffered their only loss in 1981 in Tucson. Last season, USC beat Arizona 6-1 at home and defeated the Wildcats 4-3 on the road. Saturday's match will be the 54th meeting between USC and Arizona State. The Trojans are 46-7 all-time against the Sun Devils. Last season, USC beat the Sun Devils 6-1 at home, but fell 4-3 in Tempe.

Newcomers Leading the Way -- Two of USC's newcomers - Jamil Al-Agba (4-0 dual matches) and Adriano Biasella (4-0) - are leading the way this season. Neither player has lost a match in the team lineup and in the Trojans' last outing, the pair played at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively.

On The Road Again -- USC competes its four-match road swing this week when it travels to Arizona and Arizona State. The Trojans have not played a home match since Jan. 24 and will not return to Marks Tennis Stadium until Feb. 27 when they host Pepperdine.

USC-UCLA March Match-Up To Be Televised -- Fox Sports Net will air a tape-delayed broadcast of the USC-UCLA rematch on March 2 at Marks Tennis Stadium. The match will air on March 6 at 3 p.m.
