Top-Ranked Trojans Take Down Idaho In NCAA First Round|

The No. 1 USC men's tennis team took on Idaho in the first round of the NCAA Tournament today at Marks Stadium. The crowd saw the Trojans defeat the Vandals with a score of 4-0 to improve to an overall record of 27-3.
USC won the first two doubles matches and continued their dominance on through the singles matches. In the first doubles match to finish, Connor Farren and Roberto Quiroz defeated Odon Barta and Cristobal Ramos Salazar. Then, Max de Vroome and Eric Johnson defeated Artemiy Nikitin and Cesar Torres 8-4 to clinch the doubles point.
In singles play, the Trojans won the first three matches in straight sets, clinching the match. First, on court 5, Connor Farren retired Cesar Torres 6-1, 6-0. Eric Johnson then defeated Odon Barta 6-0, 6-3 on court four. To clinch the fourth point, #95 Max de Vroome defeated Cristobal Ramos Salazar, 6-4, 6-1 on court three.
The Trojans take on Oklahoma State in the NCAA Second Round at Marks Stadium on Sunday (May 11) at 1 pm.
No. 29 Oklahoma State men's tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA men's tennis tournament win a 4-2 first round win over No. 37 Michigan on Saturday (May 10) at USC's Marks Tennis Stadium.
The Cowboys improved to 22-7 in their first NCAA appearance since 2009 and their first-ever under new head coach Jay Udwadia. The Wolverines, in their ninth consecutive NCAA trip, fell to 16-13. On Sunday, Oklahoma State will play the winner of Saturday's match featuring No. 1-ranked USC versus Idaho, making its first-ever NCAA appearance.
Michigan got on the board first as the doubles point came down to Court 3. After Oklahoma State's Jakob Sude and Arjun Kadhe, ranked 14th nationally, easily dispatched Michigan's No. 40-ranked duo of Alex Buzzi and Barrett Franks, 8-3, on Court 1, the Wolverines' Shaun Bernstein and Kevin Wong countered by defeating the Cowboys' Sebastian Sachs and Lucas Gerch, 8-5, on Court 2. Then, on Court 3, Michigan's Alex Petrone and Michael Zhu captured the team doubles point with an 8-5 victory over OSU's Brady Bohrnstedt and Matt Campbell.
The singles portion of the match was tight throughout. After No. 77-ranked Sude beat Bernstein, 6-3, 7-5, on Court 2 and Kadhe defeated Justin Rossi, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, on Court 3, Michigan tied it at 2-2 with Buzzi's 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Bohrnstedt on Court 5. Nicolai Ferrigno then gave Oklahoma State the lead again with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 win on Court 6 over Wong, who started cramping mid-match. Gerch clinched the team victory for Oklahoma State with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Vlad Stefan on Court 4. With the Cowboys' victory in hand, the match on Court 1 between No. 96-ranked Sachs and No. 85 Petrone was suspended with Sachs leading, 7-6 (4), 5-4.
