No. 2 USC Men Knock Out Stanford 7-0|

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- The No. 2 USC men's tennis team punched up a 7-0 sweep of visiting No. 52 Stanford today in a Pac-12 matchup at Marks Stadium. The lively crowd saw the Trojans win the first two doubles matches and continue their dominance through the singles matches, winning all of the six matches. USC improves to 21-2 overall with its 12th consecutive win, and is now 3-0 in Pac-12 play.
In the first doubles match to finish, Max de Vroome and Eric Johnson defeated Maciek Romanowicz and Trey Strobel 8-6. Then, Nick Crystal and Roberto Quiroz finished off an inspired comeback win, beating John Morrissey and Jamin Ball 8-7 (7) on court two.
In singles play, the Trojans were the higher ranked opponents on all courts and grabbed straight-set wins down the line. First, on court two, Stanford's Maciek Romanowicz retired with USC's #3 Ray Sarmiento leading 6-1, 2-1, giving the Trojans their first singles match win of the day. Next, at the No. 3 spot, USC's #56 Roberto Quiroz defeated Daniel Ho 6-0, 6-2 to make it a 3-0 Trojan lead and tack up the junior's 12th consecutive singles win. The clincher came on court five, where Eric Johnson defeated Anthony Tsodikov 6-1, 6-2.
With the victory in the books, the Trojans kept coming. #100 Max de Vroome whipped up a 6-2, 6-3 win over Trey Strobel on court four to get the lead to 5-0 USC. Michael Grant delivered next with his 6-4, 6-1 win over Robert Stineman, and the USC's #12 Yannick Hanfmann got to the finish line on court one with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 takedown of John Morrissey to wrap the day.
The Trojans now turn to take on No. 18 California tomorrow (April 5) at Marks Stadium at 1 p.m. for more Pac-12 play.
