LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- The No. 43 USC men's tennis team pulled off back-to-back upsets with Saturday's 7-0 sweep of No. 18 California. The Trojans topped Pac-10 foe Stanford -- ranked No. 19 -- the previous day to help build some solid momentum for USC's clash with the Bears. Behind another strong showing in doubles, USC peeled out to its fifth straight win of the year to hold a 5-0 record.

Two quick doubles wins secured that first point for the Trojans, as Robert Farah / Kaes Van't Hof topped Heavey/Chizever 8-2 to start things off. Adam Loucks / Garrett Snyder then locked away the point with an 8-3 victory over Mouillon/Nakahara before Jamil Al-Agba / Dejan Cvetkovic edged Browne/Pettit at No. 1 with a tiebreaker 6-5 (8-6).

In singles, USC pulled away with a 6-1, 6-2 win by Kaes Van't Hof over Ken Nakahara at No. 3, then got a 6-2, 6-2 victory from Dejan Cvetkovic at No. 2 over Tyler Browne. #91 freshman Jason McNaughton then clinched the important dual match win for the Trojans with his 6-4, 6-4 win over Kallim Stewart at the No. 5 singles slot. At No. 4 Robert Farah cruised past Eoin Heavey with a 6-2, 6-4 decision, and then Garrett Snyder beat out Geoff Chizever at No. 6 with a 6-4, 6-4 win. At the No. 1 slot, senior Jamil Al-Agba put the finishing touches on USC's clean sweep of the Bears with a 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 win over Cal's #19 Pierre Mouillon.

USC now turns to face two nonconference foes in Fresno State at 1p.m. on Friday (Feb. 9) and then Boise State also at 1 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 10). Both matches will be held at USC's Marks Stadium.
