    Trojans Push Through ITA Regional Play

    USC has a strong first day of singles competition in Irvine.

    THIS SEASON: Corey Smith enters his third season at USC.

    2011-12 SEASON: Smith went went 3-7 overall in singles and was1-0 in dual matches as a sophomore... Went 1-4 overall in doubles with Jonny Wang... Dual-match singles win came on Jan. 22 vs. LMU.

    2010-11 SEASON: Smith did not compete in 2010-11.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Smith was named the 2010 CIF Player of the Year as a senior out of Point Loma High after reaching the CIF singles semifinal... Also an All-CIF selection in 2007 and 2010... Team won the CIF title in 2008 and 2009 and reached the finals in 2010... An honor student.

    PERSONAL: Corey Smith was born Dec. 31, 1991 in San Diego, Calif... Son of James and Carol... Has one brother, Keegan, and one sister, Taryn...
