The USC freshman tops USC senior Nick Crystal in the title match today.
Meanwhile, USC’s Brandon Holt and Riley Smith will play for the doubles title.
USC has three Trojans in singles semis and two Trojan tandems in doubles at Mark Stadium.
Trojan senior moves into the Round of 16 in Malibu.

THIS SEASON: Nick Crystal enters his final season at USC.
2015-16 SEASON: Crystal worked his way to his highest career singles and doubles rankings during his junior season... Moved up to No. 32 in the nation in singles on April 4, 2015, and finished the season ranked No. 30 in doubles with partner Laurens Verboven... Finished the year ranked No. 45 in singles... Named to All-Pac-12 Second Team... Went 24-12 overall in singles, going 14-6 in dual matches... Played primarily at the No. 2 singles spot, going 10-3 there and was 4-3 at No. 2... Rode a stretch of nine straight singles wins during dual-match play... Was 1-1 in singles during the NCAA Team Tournament... Earned a spot in the NCAA Singles Championships, falling in the Round of 64... In doubles, went 17-14 overall, going 9-9 in dual matches... Was 14-11 overall with Verboven, going 9-9 in dual matches with him, including a 3-0 run during the NCAA Team Tournament... Also paired with Max de Vroome (2-2) and Jake DeVine (1-1)... 2014-15 SEASON: Crystal finished his sophomore season ranked No. 75 in the nation in singles... Had the clinching singles win in five dual matches... Named to ITA National Team Indoor Championships All-Tournament Team at the No. 6 singles position... Earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention... Was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Jan. 26... Went 29-6 overall in singles, going 18-3 in dual matches... Played primarily at the No. 6 position (11-3)... Also played at No. 5 (6-0) and No. 2 (1-0)... In doubles, went 18-8 overall with a 10-5 mark in dual matches... Was 8-2 overall and 4-2 in dual matches with Connor Farren... Went 5-3 overall and 5-1 in dual matches with Thibault Forget , going 2-0 at the No. 3 position at the NCAA Tournament... Also paired with Max de Vroome (2-1), Roberto Quiroz (1-0) and Jonny Wang (0-2)... In the fall, won the singles title at the Battle in the Bay and the doubles title with Farren... 2013-14 SEASON: Crystal finished his freshman season ranked No. 86 in the nation in ITA doubles with Michael Grant... Went 10-5 overall in singles, going 4-0 in dual matches at the No. 6 position... Went 18-3 in doubles with a 9-2 mark in dual matches... Was 5-0 with Rob Bellamy and 4-1 with Grant... Also paired with Roberto Quiroz (8-2) and Jonny Wang (1-0)... In the fall, won the Aztec Invitational Doubles Championship with Bellamy and reached the ITA Southwest Regional semifinals with Grant.
HIGH SCHOOL: Crystal is a 2013 graduate of Laurel Springs High School... Won three ITF titles overseas and won a gold ball and bronze ball at winter nationals 2012... Also reached the top-20 in the country for each age division.
PERSONAL: Nick Crystal was born June 14, 1995 in Westchester, N.Y.... Son of Scott and Diane.. Has two older siblings, James and Catherine... His mother, grandfather and great grandfather also attended USC... His brother James played tennis at Brown and sister Catherine played at Richmond... Enjoys playing and watching sports, traveling, fishing and being outside in his free time... Lists Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal as his biggest sports heroes... Hopes to continue to play tennis after graduation... Majoring in political science.
